Forest Tree

A towering tree stands by the brook,
Its golden leaves like pages of a book.
Autumn winds whisper through each limb,
Sunlight fading, soft and dim.
Roots clutch earth, deep and wide,
While ripples dance along the side.
Squirrels leap in rustling cheer,
As the forest bows to the end of year.
